Looks who's coming aboard in the new year! You may recognize some of these beautiful faces and if not, learn about them below!
Renee, owner of Sandy Soul Yoga, became a yoga instructor after 20 years in the hair industry. Looking for a way to honor her body after shoulder, wrist and feet issues, yoga was an integral part of what helped her stay in the hair profession as long as she was and rehab her when she got out of it. Renee received her yoga teacher training from YogaRenew in 2023 becoming certified with 200 hours and yoga philosophy. Since then, she's added certifications in Restorative, Yin, Children's Yoga and is currently working on another 300-hour training. Renee continues to enjoy adding beauty to life in another way that touches the whole community!
Kimmi has been teaching yoga for over 17 years. She has a fundamental understanding of the body through her experience as an Emotional Nutritionist, Creative and server of Kambo earth medicine. Kimmi teaches intuitively, allowing the energy of the room to guide the practice. A recent journey through a back injury has brought her the art of quiet surrender and rest in the form of Somatic exercise. She now combines this with her yoga practice to recalibrate the nervous system, therefor releasing stress held by the body, mind and spirit. She will bring Somatic Yoga, sprinkled with her eclectic life practices to Sandy Soul Yoga!
Melanie received her yoga teacher training at Esther Vexler School of Yoga in San Antonio 8 years ago. She has been a Massage Therapist for 32 years and has been teaching her clientele yoga postures and PT stretches to target specific problem areas for over 20 years. She's looking forward to combining her areas of expertise in her yoga classes. Melanie truly understands the muscular system and offers a Men's Stretch class, Hatha Plus and Chair Yoga.
Diane began practicing yoga in the early 90's at Ranjana's Yoga and Body Works in Dallas, Texas, and subsequently trained under owner and Master Yogi Ranjana Pallana before moving to Rockport. She began teaching in 1997 and, after two children and almost 30 years of teaching, still enjoys and continues to hone her yoga practice. Dianes yoga style is primarily classic hatha flow with elements of Pilates, aerobics and NIA added in. Her focus is on the breath and movement in order to get the most from you workout while enjoying your practice. Hope to see you on the mat soon! Namaste
